Starting work on the core sample

After much deliberation and technical elimination, I have decided to build the large piece as sections to be fired in the electric kiln. I would have liked to do a live performance show of the firing of a large piece, but I just felt it would be really complicated to do and may not work....I just think the success rate might be higher this way and at this stage the less things that can go wrong the better! it has been a logistical nightmare moving the things I need , but the ceramic studio isn't big enough for this work .

So I am coiling round a bin, using extracted blends of raw clays and commercial clays where necessary.
