So as part of the unit I need to build an extruder to force clay through. Think this process is important, not sure why yet. Best solution so far to use a manhole access hole, with a smaller access hole bolted inside, like the smaller section an an actual extruder. Found the gap too big and initially used a blue pipe to try and reduce the thickness of the clay but thought this would not be substantial enough therefore I have added rubber matting to make the clay thinner.
Had an excellent couple of days discussing work themes what not unexpectedly raised more questions. What was nice was to encounter other other people with similar ideas , drives and doubts. Also helped me think about 'where the art happens ' whether it is the discovery of information and its recording. Whether I am about its dissemination or whethwr it is just a vehicle for me to 'play' and how that might be justified. I have since had thoughts about compressed earth cylinder
What a wash out! However, a good band, Pizza from Brick pizza and a good atmosphere...this gave me a chance though to show my Onggi pots along side more traditional work to see what the response might be. Feedback was good when I explained to people what they were. Sales were down generally despite a good crowd...Brexit affect?
