Aldeburgh exhibition
Another showing of Onggi Vessels alongside my older work and my wife's ceramics.Interestingly the painting drew more attention than any of the ceramic work. We showed here last year with similar work and the converse was true.I was in a slot following Suffolk open studios and the Aldeburgh festival so footfall was very poor too. However I did make some good contacts with an offer of a working studio for a week 'next time'..Several people said that it was the best show they had seen in the gallery this year and it wasnt a pedestrian show. I suspect this was an indicator that perhaps this work was misplaced despite the interest. Another showing artist in the town said to me 'ah, well..You are making art for artists so you won't sell anything'. Hmmm...I didn't keep his card.
