The Nunnery at the Museum

I didn't get a chance to look here yesterday , but I needed to see the Grandeur of the interior Chapel of the Nunnery. What I didnt expect to find was the cloisters with the tiled surfaces. I suppose I should have expected this as the idea of the ceramic tile seems to be firmly fixed into the psyche of portuguese building and cultural landscape. There was a stark contrast between the intricate pattern work in 'the important rooms' and the more rural imagery of the central bathing area. I included the lamb image as it has a bizarre sense of acceptance of being tethered for sacrifice (?) , could this be a reference to human struggle?
