20- 25th Working like crazy to try and finish before the birth of my first child!

I have been building the core sample sections and adding elements in there that relate to the idea of self portrait and location. As an example, the grave where my father was buried is constantly waterlogged as it is heavy clay soil. I remember when he was buried being able to see the bright yellow clay and the mud sticking to our shoes and clothes. I collected leaves from the grave , dried them and put them into the clay, along with other referential matter to other family members and influences. The cotton fibre is a reference to my mothers terminal condition of fibrosis of the lungs due to working in the textile industry. The fibres could not be wedged into the clay in the usual way so the only way I could find to do it it was by using a hammer. I found that process quite cathartic!
