Whiteread and Gormley and Begum- Maquettes

Whilst at the whiteread show, I started to think about the use of maquettes in terms of planning work and whether it was relevant to me, or rather that it was relevant to express an idea in a physical form for others to gain a perspective on what was intended. When I saw the work of Gormley, where he is playing with ideas in a smaller form, then thinking back to the work of Rana Begum and her maquettes too, I wondered if I shouldn't be making maquettes to try out ideas. Possibly not for this immediate work, as I have a feel for the intention, but possibly for later ideas.
